As we wrap up the year and look forward to 2020, let’s take a step back and reflect on some of the many lessons we’ve learned this year.

1. A strong purpose is everything

In one of our most inspiring stories of the year, we joined “Peace Rider” Lynn Salvo on her mission to cycle a continent-sized peace sign across the United States. Along the way, Salvo became the oldest woman to cycle across the U.S.

In 2020 she’ll ride across Europe, which would make her the oldest woman to bicycle across Europe.

2. Exercise is emotionally beneficial, too

Considerable sat in on a Taoist Tai Chi class in New York City. We explored the history of the Taoist Tai Chi set and chatted with some of the students. Discovering how the art form has helped them overcome everything from arthritis to the grief of losing one’s partner.

3. It’s never too late to bust a move

Dancing never felt so good, especially after you watch the Silver Classix Crew. This hip-hop dance group was founded by Leslie Alison, and they will blow you away with their moves. All the dancers are 50+, proving it’s never too late to bust a move!

4. These are the best places to retire

As we look towards the glory days of retirement, it’s helpful knowing which states are the best and worst places to call home.

5. What’s old is new again

Floatation therapy is making a comeback. It’s also known as Sensory Deprivation therapy, and uses your own senses to relieve chronic pain, boost your mood, and clear your mind of stress and anxiety. It may soon be coming to a spa near you.
